Mao Feng | Green Tea
The tea plants of the Mao Feng cultivar are grown high in the mountains in Hunan, China, at an elevation just shy of 7,000ft above sea level. For two hundred days a year the plants are shrouded in mountain mist. This naturally raises the caffeine content of the tea, as caffeine is an insect repellant.
These tea leaves can be steeped hot or cold, producing a rich green tea flavor with smooth after taste.
HOW TO STEEP:
4-6 grams of tea (1 Tablespoon) of tea leaves
14-16 fl oz hot water ~ 175F
1st steep: 3 min
2nd steep: 4 min
3rd steep: water temp 180F for 3 min
As tea is subject to the natural forces of each season, the characteristics of this brewed tea will change slightly with each year's harvest.
